Ensure you’ve followed the quickstart guide to create a transport order. Go to its dashboard to continue with this guide. The dashboard is a home screen for everything related to the transport order. The transport order’s status, routes, payload, and more are displayed here.

Transport dashboard

The transport order dashboard is split into two main sections:
  1. Routes: shows the transport order’s routes
  2. Payload: shows the transport order’s payload components

Routes tab

The Routes tab shows the transport order’s routes. Each route is shown as a row with the route number, status, vehicle, driver, origin and destination, number of payload items, and total load mass. Clicking on the route’s title (e.g. Route 1) expands the route to reveal its payload items. Payload items are grouped by asset type and shown with their quantity, SKU, dimensions, and mass. If you have the permissions, you can edit the dimensions and mass inline by clicking on them and entering new values.

Payload tab

The Payload tab shows all the assets that have been added to the transport order, whether they are assigned to a route or not. Again, assets are grouped by asset type and shown with their quantity, SKU, dimensions, and mass. And, same as above, you can edit them if you have the permissions to do so.

Payload panel

Pressing + Add payload reveals a side panel on the right of the page. This contains the entire asset register, which you can search to find the components to transport. The side panel is split into 3 sections:
  1. All assets: the entire asset register
  2. Not assigned: assets that have been added to the transport order, but not yet assigned to a route
  3. Assigned: assets that have been assigned to one or more routes
To move between sections, click the section title at the top of the side panel.

Planning transport

Add a route

From the Routes tab of the transport order dashboard, press + Add route to create a new route.

Delete a route

Right-click a route in the Routes tab to reveal a menu. Select Delete route to remove it from the transport order.

Assign payload to a route

  1. Ensure you are in the Routes tab and the payload panel is open.
  2. Search for the asset type you want to add to the route.
  3. Select the asset type to reveal the list of specific assets of that type. A placeholder is shown at the top.
  4. To add a specific asset, drag it onto a route.
  5. If you don’t know the specific asset yet, drag the placeholder onto the route.
Go to placeholders for more information about using placeholders.

Reassign payload between routes

To change the route a payload item is assigned to, just drag it from the current route to the new route. Dragging the asset type will move all items of that type to the new route. To move a specific item, expand the asset type first then drag only that item to the new route.

Unassign payload from a route

Unassigning payload from a route causes the items to be moved back to the Not assigned section of the payload panel. They will still be in the transport order, in the Payload tab, just not assigned to any route. There are a few ways to unassign payload from a route. To unassign all items for a route, right-click the route and select Unassign all payload. To unassign all items for a specific asset type, right-click the asset type within a route and select Unassign from route. To unassign a specific item, expand the asset type first and then right-click the item you want to unassign and select Unassign from route.

Assign payload to multiple routes

When multiple routes need to carry the same payload:
  1. Assign the item to the first route.
  2. The item will appear in the Assigned section of the payload panel.
  3. Drag the item from the Assigned section to another route.

Add payload to the transport order

Sometimes, you’ll want to stage assets into the transport order before assigning them to specific routes. Follow the steps below to do this:
  1. Ensure you are in the Payload tab and the payload panel is open.
  2. Search for the asset type you want to add to the transport order.
  3. Select the asset type to reveal the list of specific assets of that type. A placeholder is shown at the top.
  4. To add a specific asset, drag it into the payload section.
  5. If you don’t know the specific asset yet, drag the placeholder into the payload section.
Your assets will be added to the payload section of the transport order, but not a specific route. Later, when you’re ready to add the assets to a specific route, repeat the steps in Add payload to a route except drag from the Not assigned section of the payload panel instead of the All assets section. Once these components are added to routes, they will be moved from the Not assigned section of the payload panel to the Assigned section.

Remove payload from the transport order

Above we show how to unassign payload from a route. But you can also remove payload from the transport order altogether, including any routes it may be assigned to.
This removes the items from the Payload tab and the Not assigned section of the payload panel. To grab the items again, you’ll need to find them in the All assets section of the payload panel. To remove all items of a type, go to the Payload tab and right-click the asset type you want to remove. Then press Remove from transport order. To remove a specific item, expand the asset type first and then right-click the specific item you want to remove. Then press Remove from transport order. You can also remove payload from the Route tab. To remove all items of a type, find the route and the asset type you want to remove. Then right-click the asset type and select Remove from transport order. To remove a specific item, expand the asset type first and then right-click the specific item you want to remove. Then press Remove from transport order.

  1. Go to the dashboard for an existing allocation
  2. In the right side panel, click “Transport”
  3. Click + Create transport order
  4. Enter a title and press Create
The transport order will be created with the components from the allocation in its payload.
